Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is a government organisation established in 1985 by the government through an act for the development and promotion of export of scheduled products. It provides financial assistance, information, and guidelines towards the development of scheduled products. The products specified under the APEDA ACT are called schedule products, and exporters of such scheduled products are required to register under APEDA. This detailed guide explains the online APEDA process and steps.

Exporters of agricultural and processed food products must register with APEDA. The online registration process of APEDA (Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) requires several steps. Here is the common step to register.

Step 1: Visit the APEDA Website

  • Go to ‘APEDA Online Services’ on the official APEDA website: https://apeda.gov.in.
  • Select the unit Registration by clicking on the APEDA ITrack System.

Step 2: Create a New User Account

Homepage-Navigate to the "Register" or "Sign Up"

Fill in details such as:

  • Company/Organisation Name
  • Current Business address
  • Business contact information (email, phone)
  • Type of business (manufacturer, exporter, etc.)
  • Click on "Submit".

Step 3: Log in Portal

  • Log in to the port with your login credentials
  • Access the online registration forms and various services.

Step 4:Fill the Online Registration Form

After logging in, navigate to the "Registration" section. Fill out the Registration Form by providing the required details:

  • Business Legal Name
  • Type of Business
  • Contact Information (email, phone)
  • GST Number(GST Registration)
  • FSSAI License Number (for food products)
  • PAN Number (company/business)
  • IEC Code (Import-Export Code, in case of import).
  • Bank Account Details.

Step 5: Upload Required Documents

You will need to upload scanned copies of documents. The required documents are:

  • Copy of PAN Card.
  • GST Registration Certificate,
  • Import Export Code (IEC) as per  DGFT.
  • Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) as per DGFT.
  • FSSAI License/Registration Certificate (for food-related products).
  • Company Registration Certificate (Incorporation certificate or partnership deed).
  • MSME Certificate for SSI, MSME units.
  • Bank Account Statement/Cheque Copy.
  • Address Proof (electricity bill, rent agreement).
  • Shop and Establishment Certificate
  • Environmental Consents from SPCB/CPCB.

Step 6: Submit the Registration Form

  • Check the details after uploading and submitting the documents
  • Clicking on "Submit". Button

Step 7: Payment of online Registration Fees 

APEDA charges a basic registration fee according to the type and scale of the business. You will be directed to a payment gateway to make the payment.

  • Fee Structure: The online methods (credit/debit card, net banking) for Payment.
  • After the payment, you'll receive a confirmation message.

Step 8: APEDA Approval and Issuance of Certificate

After submission of the registration form, APEDA will process your application and documents.

Once everything is verified and approved, APEDA will issue a Registration Certificate.

The registration certificate will be available for download from your APEDA portal account.

APEDA Post-Registration: 

After successful APEDA online registration, you will receive:

APEDA Registration Number: The unique identification number that you’ll use for export-related transactions and to avail of APEDA services.

Access to APEDA Services: You can apply for various government schemes, participate in export promotion activities, and access market development support.

Important Notes:

Validity: The validity of APEDA registration is 5 years. Its renewal is required.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety, packaging, and labeling standards as required by APEDA for the export of food products.

Use of APEDA Certificate: The registration number is crucial for availing financial assistance, subsidies, and other export-related benefits.
